FIRM PROFILE

Dillman & Assoc., is an Elder Law Boutique law firm that practices in among other things, trust and estate planning, asset protection including planning for Medicaid (Title 19) eligibility, probate matters, and taxation. The firm is dedicated to assisting elders and their families in taking steps now to protect their future.

Founding principal, Noreen A. Dillman, is experienced and accomplished at handling a diverse range of Elder Law needs. She is a Certified Elder Law Attorney, a certification awarded by the National Elder Law Foundation, the only organization approved by the American Bar Association to offer certification in the area of Elder Law. This certification in elder law --- one of the fastest growing fields in the legal profession --provides a measure of assurance to the public that the attorney has an in-depth working knowledge of the legal issues that impact the elderly.

"Elder Law" is the legal practice of counseling and representing older persons and their representatives about the legal aspects of health and long-term care planning, public benefits, surrogate decision-making, older persons' legal capacity, the conservation, disposition and administration of older persons' estates and the implementation of their decisions concerning such matters, giving due consideration to the applicable tax consequences of the action, or the need for more sophisticated tax expertise.

Attorney Dillman has practiced law in Hartford County since 1995. Previously, she worked for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for an eight-year period. While at the IRS, she was assigned to the Estate and Gift Tax Division as an Estate Tax Attorney for three years. Attorney Dillman is also a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in Connecticut. Her combined tax and financial expertise enable her to contribute a degree of skill to the firm’s Elder Law practice that is not typical of other law firms.
